Congratulations to Narra Founder Mia C. Villanueva who is one of the newest team members of the National Geographic Channel, where she collaborates with the Audience & Business Development team in their New York office.

Congratulations to Narra Founder Gregory Pacificar who recently completed the highly prestigious David Henry Hwang Writer's Institute which is funded by the James Irvine Foundation and supported by ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, & The California Community Foundation for their support to East West Player's Arts Education Programs.  Pacificar's play is entitled Unbiased and is about a journalist’s struggle to determine if sex + love in HIV are possible. The protagonist risks his relationships and his own notion of right and wrong to uncover the truth. At the first staged reading, Unbiased received rave reviews.

Congratulations to Narra Founder Maite Zabala whorecently completed the highly prestigious David Henry Hwang Writer's Institute. In the program, Maite completed a full length stage play.

Congratulations to Narra Founder Bing Tell who wrapped production on the feature film The Chicago 8 which will be released in theaters in 2011.

Congratulations to Narra Founder Mia C. Villanueva who directed several commercials and PSA's for MTV's Staying Alive Foundation, addressing HIV AIDS awareness in a new and entertaining way. In addition, Villanueva was recently completed The Kauffman Foundation's inaugural class of the Education Ventures Program, which will immerse 25 aspiring entrepreneurs in an intensive, hands-on program designed to catalyze the creation of high-growth companies in the education sector. After receiving nearly 800 applicants from around the world, Villanueva was chosen as 1 of only 25 participants in The Kauffman Foundation program.  While in the program, Villanueva will be working on creating engaging animated videos that make it easy for young adults and adults to understand complex political and social issues.


LOS ANGELES: We're partnering with KCRW DJ Garth Trinidad and non-profit organization Gabnet for Moja Moja at the House of Blues for good music and a good cause. Donate items to Gabnet for typhoon victims in the Philippines and receive a complimentary gift from The Narra Group, Puma and more. LOS ANGELES & NEW YORK: To commemorate World AIDS Day, APAIT (Asian Pacific AIDS Intervention Team) and APICHA (Asian & Pacific Islander Coalition on HIV/AIDS) will screen The Narra Group's film, Mangosteen. The NY screening will take place 12/1 at 5:30pm followed by a Q&A with filmmakers Mia Villanueva and Alzo Slade at APICA, 400 Broadway (entrance at 70 Walker St.), New York, 10013.
